45 post-surgical orthopedic joint replacement patients received Theracoustic audio therapy across multiple therapeutic programs — Sleep Relief, Stress Relief, and Pain Relief. This study examined the effectiveness of Theracoustic audio therapy for post-surgical orthopedic joint replacement patients across three distinct therapeutic applications: sleep improvement, stress and anxiety reduction, and pain management.

45 patients recovering from joint replacement surgery at a large hospital system participated. Patients used audio therapy sessions tailored to their immediate recovery needs — Delta Sleep programs for sleep difficulty, Stress Relief programs for post-surgical anxiety, and Pain Relief programs for physical discomfort.

For sleep improvement (n=15, 42 sessions), patients reported a 74.6% average reduction in sleep difficulty — a critical metric given the well-established relationship between sleep quality and surgical recovery outcomes.

The Stress Relief program produced a 58.8% reduction in reported stress and a 50% reduction in anxiety — both common and often under-treated post-surgical experiences that can impede healing and rehabilitation compliance.

For pain management, patients reported a 41.5% reduction in standing and walking pain, and a 45.8% reduction in sitting pain — meaningful reductions that can improve mobility and quality of life during recovery.

The breadth of outcomes across three distinct symptom categories highlights the versatility of audio therapy as a non-pharmacological adjunct for post-surgical care.
